TEACHER TRAVELOGUES (TEA-TRAV)

Teachers often perceive the school environment they work in, to be their world. Most of them know the same national boards and a few international boards and familiar traditional structures of teaching. There are very little opportunities available to teachers that gives them an exposure to unconventional, off beat learning spaces, where learning is not confined to regular, four-walled rooms. Tea-Trav is an invitation to teachers to visit unique and alternate learning spaces in India and abroad, and witness first-hand, path breaking educationists who have fearlessly challenged the existing schooling systems, and set up beautiful, child-friendly schools. They get to witness first-hand, how learning environments can be open and free of binding structures and yet, amazing learning possible! The programme (besides travel) gives teachers opportunities to interact with the facilitators, learners and founders of these amazing learning spaces and reflect on how they can carry a few of those elements in their everyday practice. The biggest elements of this programme are excitement and fun!

Programme Aim and Objectives

  • Inspire teachers to widen their horizons and expose them to unique learning spaces that break all conventions!
  • Reflect and dialogue with fellow travelers on these experiences and carry these back to their regular teaching environments.
